She was born March 24, 1953, in Frankfurt, Germany, the daughter of Murray R. and Katherine (Ewing) Nelson, while her father was in service and stationed in Germany. She had formerly lived in the Lake Odessa area when the family moved here from New Jersey in 1968. A graduate of Lakewood High School 1971 class, she was attending Montcalm Community College and was about half way through her course as she planned to be a LPN. (Licensed Praticical Nurse). Mrs. Proctor was a member of the Emmanuel Episcopal church at Hastings. Surviving are her husband, Kenneth L.; a two year old daughter Alica Anne at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Murray Nelson, rural Freeport: a sister Mrs. David (Janet) Peaker of washington, D.C.; two brothers, Michael J. Nelson of Lansing and James A. Cook of Norfolk, Va., and her grandmother, Mrs. Marie Nelson of East Jordan. Funeral services were held on Thursday (today) at 1:30 at the Picken-Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa. Father Wayne C. Olmstead officiated with burial in Lakeside cemetery.
