Portland Observer, 20 Feb 1901

Sarah E. Provost, aged 54 years, died at the home of her niece, Mrs. E. Horner, 
in Danby on the 12th inst.  Deceased had made her home with Mrs. Horner since 
last September.  Her home was at Greenwich, Conn., her husband running on a boat 
between that city and New York.  The body was embalmed preparatory to 
instructions from the husband.  Mr. Provost arrived here on Friday and funeral 
services over the remains were conducted from Mr. Horner’s residence on Sunday by 
Rev. Millard and burial made in Danby cemetery.  A brother from Cincinnati 
attended the funeral.
