Pryer, 91, one of Danby’s best known residents, died Wednesday, November 1, at Ionia County hospital. He was the last member of a family of seven children, all of whom were well known here, and were the children of Thomas and Cornelia Pryer. Mr. Pryer was born in Danby December 16, 1852, on the Pryer homestead, which in later years has been known as the Dr. Roy Pryer farm. On March 12, 1878, he married Acelia Barnard, who died August 24, 1919. About 14 years ago he married Ella Coddling, whose death occurred May 31, 1940. He had resided on his farm in Danby for more than 50 years. He is survived by one son, Ray Pryer, and one granddaughter, Miss Betty Pryer, of Portland. Funeral services for Mr. Pryer will be held at the Bandfield Funeral home on Saturday afternoon at 2:00, Rev. George Stanford officiating, and burial will be in Danby cemetery.
