Mrs. Pryer’s maiden name was Sarah Towner and she was a daughter of Alfred Towner, one of the early settlers of Danby township. She was born on the place now occupied by Fred Towner, a little north of the Section school, 68 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Pryer were married on March 9th, 1881. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last year. For a time after their marriage they lived near Collins and for a period of several years resided in the village of Portland. The rest of their married life had been spent in Danby township. Several years ago Mr. Pryer bought the George Culver farm, where the couple had since resided. The husband survives, as do three brothers—Richard, Thomas and Fred Towner, Danby; and two sisters, Mrs. Rose Boughner, Danby; Mrs. Alice Crowley, St. Johns. There are no children. Funeral services are to be held at the house Wednesday afternoon at 2:00, Rev. John H. Stewart officiating. Burial in Portland cemetery.
