Aug. 28, 1919 MRS. CHAS. PRYER VICTIM OF CANCER WELL KNOWN DANBY WOMAN PASSES AWAY MONDAY, AFTER TWO YEARS’ ILLNESS Mrs. Charles Pryer, a well-known and highly respected Danby woman, died Monday afternoon at 5:00 o’clock from cancer. She had been ill for the past two years and had failed steadily. Funeral services were held at the late residence Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, with Rev. Truman F. Galt, of the Portland Congregational church officiating, and interment of the remains took place in the Danby township cemetery. Mrs. Pryer’s maiden name was Acelia Barnard, she having been a daughter of the late Levi Barnard, of Portland. She was born at Lockport, N.Y., October 10, 1852, but had spent most of her life in this locality. Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Ray H. Pryer, who recently returned from several months overseas service with the American expeditionary forces. She also leaves an aged mother, Mrs. Mary Marcy, a brother, Walter C. Barnard, and a sister, Mrs. Emma Ball, all of Portland.
