Pryer, 87, a prominent resident of Danby township for many years, died at his farm home early Saturday evening almost three weeks to an hour from the time he was seriously injured when thrown from a wagon when the horses he was driving became frightened and started to run. At first it did not appear that the injuries Mr. Pryer received in the accident were of great consequence but his condition had steadily grown worse, resulting in his death. Not only was he a successful farmer, but had figured extensively in the political and social life of his township. Mr. Pryer was a staunch republican. He had voted in every presidential election since the days when Lincoln went to the white house. In recognition of his long connection with the republican party Mr. Pryer was made a honorary member of the young republication club of Portland, Danby and Sebewa two years ago, and the club was named after him. Mr. Pryer was a long-time member of the Grange and belonged to the Golden Sheaf department of that order, made up of those who have been Grangers for fifty years or more. Funeral services were held at the Pryer home at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, burial in Danby cemetery.
