Mrs. Pryer, whose maiden name was Cornelia Ann Phillips, was born in New York City June 23, 1824, and came to Michigan in the early 40’s, settling in Danby township, and has resided in this vicinity constantly since that time. On November 16, 1843 Miss Phillips was united in marriage to Thomas Pryer, who passed before her about six years ago. In 1890 the couple moved from the farm in Danby to this village, where both resided until death came. Seven children were born to this union, five of whom are now living. They are Mrs. George VanBuren, Boyne City, Mich., William, Sylvester, and Frank W. Pryer, Danby township. Funeral services were held at the late home of deceased on the west side yesterday at 1:00 o’clock, conducted by Rev. W. W. Slee, of the M. E. church, and interment was made in Portland cemetery. The passing of Mrs. Pryer is deeply mourned by all who knew her. She was a most estimable lady and her memory will long be cherished by many admirers.
