Puffer, age 76, died May 6 at his home in Seattle, Washington. A former resident of Belding, Dr. Puffer was born in Porter, Mich., Midland county and at one time was secretary of Belding Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Free Methodist church. He graduated from Spring Arbor Junior college in 1912; completing baccalaureate work in 1919 at University of Washington and with his wife Edna went to India as a missionary. When home on leave, he received his MA degree of Columbia University, N.Y., and in 1943 received Degree of Doctor Laws in absentia from Seattle Pacific college. After 40 years on the mission field he retired and with his wife made his home in Seattle. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. K. M. Mathew of Yeotmal, India; one sister, Mrs. Grace Russell, Belding; three nieces, one nephew. Funeral services were held May 10 in Seattle, Washington.
