Ionia Sentinel Standard, 7 Sep 1971

John J. Pung, 65, of 546 Market, Portland, died Saturday at Lansing General 
Hospital after being a patient two weeks.  He was born May 16, 1906, in 
Westphalia and was a retired employee of Bauer Lumber company.

Surviving are three brothers, Leo P. and Cyril C. of Portland and Joseph C. of 
Pewamo; three sisters, Mrs. Nora Smith, Mrs. Theresia Davis and Mrs. Tillie 
Holben all of Portland.

Funeral services were Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic church in 
Portland.  Interment was at St. Marys cemetery, Westphalia.  Rosary was recited 
Monday at 8 p.m. at Neller funeral home in Portland.  Bearers were David and 
Ronald Smith, Vernon, Michael, Frederick and Gerald Pung.
