The Portland Review & Observer, April 18, 1988

Pauline Catherine Pung, 85, of 625 Center St., Portland, died April 13, 1988, 
at St. Lawrence Hospital in Lansing.  Mrs. Pung was born Nov. 3, 1902, in 
Westphalia, the daughter of Peter and Julia (Martin) Smith.  She had been a 
housewife.

Survivors include three sisters, Mary Hoppes of Eagle and Rosena May and 
Dorothy Fedewa, both of Portland; one sister-in-law, Helen Pung of Portland; 
and one niece, Mary Simon of Ionia.

Services were April 15 at St. Patrick’s Church in Portland with Father Richard 
VanLente as celebrant.  Interment was in Portland Cemetery.  Arrangements were 
handled by Neller Funeral Home.
