IOnia Sentinel Standard - January 20, 1964
Sylvester J. Pung, 61, died Sunday morning at Bide-a-wee convalescent home at 
Belding.  He was born at Westphalia and had been a farmer but the past 13 years 
was employed by Consumers Power Company.  

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Catherine Doherty of Portland, and Mrs. 
Jean Briggs of Bay City; three sons, Joseph J. Pung of Portland, Ronald S. of 
Toledo, Ohio and John D. of Lansing; 19 grandchildren three sisters, Mrs. Dora 
Klein of Pewamo, Mrs. Rose Spitzley of Lansing, and Sister Rosa Rita of Piqua, 
Ohio; three brothers, Edward Pung of Westphalia, Oscar of Toledo and Rev. Fr. 
Robert Pung, SVD, of Rome, Italy.  Rosary will be offered at Neller funeral 
home at 8 o'clock Monday evening.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am 
Tuesday at St. Patrick's church followed by burial at Portland cemetery.  The 
Rev. Fr., J. J. Amman will sing the mass.
