Pung, 77, of Pewamo died Dec. 31, 1992, in Lansing. He was born in Clinton County on June 25, 1915, the son of William and Theresia (Martin) Pung. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, of St. Mary's Choir for 48 years, and a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society. He was a retired farmer and had also retired from the State of Michigan as a custodial supervisor. He is survived by his wife, Dora M.; four daughters, Joan (William) Mattila of Pewamo, Theresa (Edward) Wedley of Lake Odessa, Ann Marie (Philip) Schafer of Fowler, and Donna (Kenneth) Weber of Pewamo; two sons, Vernon (Stella) Pung of Westphalia and Paul (Cheryl) Pung of Pewamo; 15 grandchildren; and two sisters, Nora Smith and Theresia Catherine Davis of Portland. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Albert, Arnold, John, Leo and Cyril; and one sister, Mathilda Holben. The Rosary was recited Jan. 2 and 3 at St. Mary's Chapel, Westphalia. Mass with Rev. James Novak officiating. Casket bearers were Michael Pung, Thomas Smith, Gerald Pung, Michael Fedewa, Donald Hengesbach, and Leon Hengesbach. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Westphalia. Memorial contributions may be left at the chapel for the family. Arrangements by Gorsline-Runciman Neller Chapel, Portland.
