Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 21 Nov 1942

Guy Purdy, 69, died late Thursday evening at his home in Smyrna, following a
long illness.  He was a lifelong resident of Smyrna.  He married Mrs. Rhoda
Haysmer, July 21, 1930 and she is his only survivor.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the home in
Smyrna.  Rev. H. S. Ellis of Belding will officiate and burial will be in Smyrna
cemetery.

[Transcriber’s note:  There is a notation on the obituary card that he was born
in Otisco September 24, 1873, the son of John and Laura (Davis) Purdy.]
