She had been a resident of R3 Belding for the past 62 years. Mrs. Purdy was born in Little Rock, Iowa, Sept. 18, 1878. She was married to Charles Purdy, March 28, 1900, and he died in 1946. She was a life member of Venus chapter, No. 107, Order of Eastern Star, and M-44 club. Surviving are one son, Lawrence Purdy of R3; three daughters, Mrs. Stanley Chlebek, Mrs. Lewis Barber and Mrs. Martin Steensma, all of Grand Rapids; a sister, Mrs. Justin Petersen, of California; nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at the Ellis Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m., with the Order of the Eastern Star and Rev. H. S. Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Bostwick Lake cemetery. Pallbearers will be Francis Barber, Dan Barber, Robert Chlebek, William Jones, John Beukens and J. De Kudder.
