Ionia County News, 25 May 1961

Wilson S. Purdy, 76, died on Sunday, May 21, after being ill for two weeks, at
the St. Mary’s hospital in Grand Rapids.  Mr. Purdy was born on December 13,
1884 and has been a lifetime resident in Orleans township.  He was a retired
inspector at Gibson Refrigerator.  He married Edith McGee in Grand Rapids on
June 30, 1910.

Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. George (Ilah) Bacon of Jackson,
Mrs. John (Dorothy) Allen of Belding, Mrs. Kenneth (Alleen) Schrock of Flint;
three sons, Oren of Alma, Keith of Texas, E. Wilson of Florida; ten grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 24 at the Huffman funeral home in
Belding.  Rev. Luther Brokaw officiated.  Interment was in Smyrna cemetery.
