Richard W.Purdy
MARSHALL - Richard W. Purdy, 70, of Marshall, formerly of Lake Odessa, died 
Thursday at Marshall Provencial House after a brief illness.

He was born in Harris, Mo., Sept. 16, 1918, to Neil and Jessie Taylor Purdy.

He was a herdsman for the Walter Reed Farm in Lake Odessa and left in 1965 to 
work as a livestock inspector for the Michigan Department of Agriculture.He 
retired in 1981.

He is survived by his wife Mildred Finley Purdy of Marshall; three sons, Gary, 
Wendell and Stephen, all of the Lansing area; one sister Mary Kellogg of Howell; 
two brothers, Wayne Purdy of Swartz Creek ad Calvin Purdy of Muscatine, Iowa; 
and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Warren, in 1978

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Craig K.Kempf Funeral Home 
in Marshall.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the Youth Diabetes Association or the American Cancer 
Society.
