Ionia Sentinel Standard-Mon. Sept. 27, 1976

LENO (LEE) PURKEY
TECUMSEH -Leno (Lee) Purkey, 70, of Tecumseh, father of Ionia school board
president, Sgt. James Purkey of Ionia, died Sunday in St. Joseph Mercy hospital in Ann Arbor.

He was born October 3, 1905 in Hicksville, Ohio. He married Dorothy Fallis in
Monroe, January 24, 1923. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Bette) Williamson  and Mrs. William
(Lois) Tilton, both of Tecumseh; four sons, Robert , Donald and Richard of Tecumseh and
James of Ionia; two sisters, Mrs. Lelah Nash of Toledo, Ohio, Mrs. Nelva Putnam of
Sylvania, Ohio; 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services are Tuesday in the Purse funeral home in Tecumseh with Rev. Edmond Watkins
officiating.

Burial is in Brookside cemetery in  Tecumseh.
