Putney, died on Wednesday night, aged 38 years. The funeral will be attended from the residence, East Main street, this Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock. The loss is a severe one to Mr. Putney, and their three children—George, aged 16, Florence, aged 11, and a babe born on Tuesday, lose a devoted mother. Mrs. Putney was widely known in Ionia, where she had lived during pretty much all her lifetime, and the sympathy of her many friends is bestowed upon the bereaved husband and children. Mrs. Putney was a daughter of Alvin Rice and was left an orphan at the age of 11, her father dying in April and her mother the next August. She was left in the care of Hon. H. Rich, as guardian, and for the two or three years previous to her marriage made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Geo. S. Cooper.
