Ionia Sentinel Standard-Sat. Jan. 24, 1942

MR. AND MRS. J. C. RAE
Word was received in Ionia this week of the deaths of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Rae of
Battle Creek. Both are former Ionians. Mr. Rae died early Monday and was buried Wednesday 
and Mrs. Rae died Thursday. Funeral services for Mrs. Rae were conducted Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Rae made their home in Ionia for many years, both before and after
their marriage which took place in this city. Mrs. Rae is the former Pearl Riker, She was
associated with the Citizen's Telephone company when she lived in Ionia and he was 
employed as a machinist by the Pere Marquette Railroad company. They moved to Battle
Creek several years ago. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul church.

They are survived by one son, Gordon Rae, of Battle Creek. Two daughters died in 
childhood.
