December 11, 2021 MARCIA ANN RAFFLER MIDDLEVILLE- Marcia Ann Raffler of Middleville, formerly of Lake Odessa, passed away on Friday, Dec.3, 2021.Marcia was born March 15, 1931 to Ermal and Edith Garlinger. She worked for her family's egg business, Lake Odessa Produce Company, until it closed. Marcia was a 1949 graduate of Lake Odessa High School. That years she raised the Grand Champion Market Steer of the Ionia Free Fair, proudly starting four generations of family members with Grand Champion livestock, and was a 4-H youth leader for many years.She was a life member of First Congregational Church. She married Arthur J. Raffler March 25, 1951 and he preceded her in death in 2015. Together Marcia and Art supported the Lake Odessa Fair for many years and were the 2005 Grand Marshals. The Michigan Association of Fair Exhibitions recognized Marcia for her 76 years of service with the Heritage achievement award. Other personal high points for Marcia were champion pie maker of the Ionia Free Fair in 1960 and Ionia County Homemaker of the Year in 1989, and a board member of the Ladies Day Committee.Life member of Order of the Eastern Star in Mulliken No. 161. Life member of the VFW Post 4461 Auxiliary. Marcia was an avid sports fan, following her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to local, national, and international events. She will be dearly missed by her children, Fred (Deb) Raffler, Nancy (Gary) Mattson; grandchildren Mark (Marlene) Raffler, Tracy (Corey) Dahms, Kurt (Kim) Raffler,Laurel (Taylor) Steward; great-grandchildren, Camden, Corbin, Quentin, Addison, Bryson, Anna, Rowan, Lincoln, Emerson, Baylor, Capri, and Bo; nephew, Dr. Steven (Melanie) Garlinger, and nice Jill (Mike) Booher. Preceding Marcia in death were her parents; husband, Art; sister,Laurel Garlinger; brothers, Ivar and Fred (Marilyn) Garlinger. A private service will be held. Memorials can be given to the First Congregational Church of Lake Odessa and Carveth Village. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.koopsfc.com for the Raffler family.
