Raffler, 72, died Saturday at Barry county medical facility in Hastings where he had been a patient the past three weeks. He was born November 19, 1895 in Woodland the son of George and Carrie Smith Raffler. He was a meat cutter by trade working in the Woodland and Lake Odessa stores, retiring in 1953, and a member of Zion Lutheran church. He is survived by his wife, Lucille; one daughter, Mrs. Delbert Platte of Lake Odessa; eight sons, Arthur and Larry of Lake Odessa, Richard of Grand Ledge, Darwin serving with the army in Germany, and Arnold with the army in Korea, Elwyn, Donald and Marvin of Woodland; 13 grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Letha Sabin of Vicksburg; one brother, Lawrence. Funeral services were Tuesday at 1:30 pm at Zion Lutheran church with Rev. Elmar Unseth officiating. Burial was in Woodland Memorial cemetery. Arrangements were made by Pickens funeral chapel in Lake Odessa.
