Born Oct. 22, 1934, in Ionia to Eno H.and Lena M. Raglin, Barb lived a quiet life, close to home. She loved music, playing organ, liked to play golf and sew and enjoyed working in her yard, which always looked beautiful. Never having children of her own, Barb loved kids and was the favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews as well as assorted neighbors, always having chocolate candy or other sweets available to treat her young visitors. Barbara graduated from Ionia High School in 1953. She was stricken with tuberculous after that and spent many months in a sanatorium in Grand Rapids before recovering and returning to Ionia. In 1965 Barbra was hired at Ionia County National Bank where she worked for 34 years until her retirement in 1999. While there she served in several capacities, such as administrative assistant to Bank President Ron Story, in the mortgage department, and retired as Vice- President of Mortgage Lending. She forged many faithful and enduring friendships with co-workers during her career. Many of her co-workers there still remember her as extremely knowledgable, wholly dedicated to her job, always striving to do her best in every situation, and leaving an impeccable legacy at the bank. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Ionia, the Bible seekers Group, and served on the Hall-Fowler Memorial Library Board. Those left behind to lovingly remember Aunt Barb are nephews, Mark (Suzanne) Raglin,, Scott Raglin, and Joseph (Sally) Flanders, many great nieces and nephews including her special and caring great-niece, Kelly Mendez, Kirk (Charlotte) Bennett and Timothy, Jennifer, Christian, and Patrick Flanders, as well as helpful and dedicated neighbors, Bill and Mary Cooper and family and Vicky Hummel. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Floyd Aikens, Doris Flanders, Max Raglin and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express appreciation to Independence Village in Grand Ledge for the excellent and sensitive care they provided for Aunt Barb in the last year of her life. Cremation has take place, and no services are planed per Barb's request. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Barbara Raglin to Ionia Community Library at 126 east Main Street, Ionia, MI 48846. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman funeral Homes.
