January 8, 2022 RAIMER Violet Joy Weeks Raimer age 86 of Saranac passed away January 1, 2022 at her home on her beloved farm in the presence of her family. Joy as she way know by her family and friends was a life-long resident of the Saranac area.She was born January 14, 1935 in Keene Township the daughter of Glenn D and Ethel B.(Compton) Weeks. Joy attended and graduated from Saranac Community Schools. She is survived by her children, Rhonda (Bill) Palmer, Renee(Ron) Goff, Scott Raimer (Christie Soules), Mike Raimer and Mark (Catherine) Raimer. Sister Bea Bowen. Grandchildren; Jen Lepley, Becky Palmer, Billy (Sherry) Palmer, Tricia (Tim) Mutschler, Cale (Laurie) Palmer, Lance (Tina) Raimer, Jamie (Destini) Goff, Christopher (Emily) Raimer, Benjamin (Amanda) Raimer, Lauren (Dustin) Leslie and Alaine Raimer. Great grandchildren; Carly Hornbrook, Norah Palmer, Willow Palmer, Collin Palmer, Jaxon Palmer, Crew Palmer, Makenzie (Brad) Hyland, Autumn Lepley, Riley Cass, Caleb Randall, Bryson Randall, Jacob Randall, Kennison Mutschler, Colten Goff, Levi Goff, Kelsey Goff, Maddlyn Raimer, Garrett Raimer, Gracelyn Raimer, Bailey Raimer, Haven Raimer, Amber Raimer, Parker Leslie, Violet Leslie, Breckon Raimer and Kysen Raimer. great great granddaughters Averie Hyland and Charlee Hyland, Sister-in-law, Shirley Weeks. Mo her canine companion of 14 years was alway and faithfully at side. Joy's love of farming began in her early years when she tagged along with her dad to the barn with her younger brother Ron, sometimes following so closely she was nicknamed "Tail". Her love for animals and farming led her to become active with 4-H where she loved showing her Long-Horned-Brown Swiss cattle in Detroit at the State Fair. While in school she enjoyed basketball and cheerleading. In her adult years her interests including camping and singing with her brother and sisters at the Lowell Showboat. Joy was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Crystal Taylor, June Smith, Gladys McLeod, Alberta Allen and brother Ron Weeks. Private graveside services will be held at Saranac Cemetery. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Saranac Community church Food Pantry. Arrangements in care of Lake Funeral Home in Saranac.
