Ionia Daily Sentinel – Thursday, 7 March 1912
Mrs. Catherine Spitler Ralston was born in Fairfield County, Ohio, Nov. 26, 
1835, died at her home in Sebewa Feb. 28, 1912, after a long and serious 
illness at the age of 76 years, 3 months, 2 days.  Catharine Spitler was 
united in marriage Dec. 6, 1866 to Andrew M. Ralston in Ohio, where they lived 
about four years after their marriage.  They afterwards came to Michigan, 
moving to their farm in Sebewa Township which has since been her home.  To Mr. 
and Mrs. Ralston three children were born, all of whom are living, Charles M., 
Joseph G., Walter E.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.  She was always a kind neighbor 
and a loving mother, her death will be greatly mourned by her relatives and a 
host of friends.  Funeral services were held at the house Saturday at 10 
o’clock, conducted by Rev. Wynn of the M. E. church.  Interment was in 
Lakeside cemetery.
