The Lyons Herald, Thursday, March 8, 1906
S. S. Ramsey, a prominent citizen of Portland, died Friday, March 2, having 
suffered a stroke of paralysis several weeks ago.  Funeral was held Sunday.  
Mr. Ramsey was born in Pennsylvania and had been a resident of Portland since 
1872.  He was for many years a bridge contractor and was well known in this 
vicinity.  He carried $2000 insurance in the Maccabee order.
