Ionia Sentinel Standard - June 4, 2011


Berniece E. Randall, 86, was called home to her Lord June 3, 2011. She was born 
to Laverne and Hazel (Wilkenson) Herbert on Aug. 7, 1924 in Bath Township, 
Clinton County. She married Marion (Avie) Randall May 6, 1944 who proceeded her 
in death March 2008.

During her life, Berniece was a member of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church in 
Ionia, and Green Corners Baptist Church in Belding. The last three years she 
attended Edwards Corners Bible Church in Marcellus. She was president and 
secretary of the Blue Star Mothers while living in Belding. Twenty winters were 
spent at Bibleville Estates in Alamo, Texas. Berniece also helped with 
Commission on Aging while living in Ionia.

She is survived by four children Bonnie (Stanley) Rumphol of Valdosta, Ga., 
Kenneth (Donna Woodard) Randall of Three Rivers, Virginia Randall of Grand 
Rapids, and Starl (Wendy Mauk) Randall of Grand Rapids; seven grandchildren and 
10 great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother Frank, sisters Ardith, 
Donna Jean, Audrey and Esther.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lincoln Ave. Baptist Church, 
with Pastor Dwight Hostetler officiating of Edwards Corners Bible Church. 
Interment Tuttle Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives 6 to 8 
p.m. Monday at Lake funeral Home in Ionia.
