Randall arrived in Ionia from Chicago and military funeral service, by Saranac Legion Post, will be held from Myers Funeral Home at two o’clock Sunday afternoon. Rev. J. Lee Lewis will officiate and burial will be in Tuttle cemetery. Cpl. Randall, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Randall of Saranac, was born May 26, 1915, in Clinton county. He entered served in 1940 after the death of his father and was a member of Ionia Post 126, 32nd Division. He died of typhus infection in New Guinea in July, 1944. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Ella Randall of Saranac; a brother, Asa of Lowell; four sisters, Mrs. John Clack, Ionia; Mrs. Herman Dreger, Ellen and Marian Randall of Saranac. Randall, son of Mrs. Ella Randall of Saranac, arrived in Ionia Thursday, July 15, on the 5:07 train. Funeral services will be conducted from the Myer’s funeral home Sunday, July 18, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Lee Lewis of the first Baptist church will officiate and interment will be in the Tuttle cemetery. The American Legion post of Saranac will conduct the graveside service. Cpl. Randall was born May 26, 1915 in Clinton county the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Randall. His father died in 1940. He entered the service in July 1940, and in January of 1941 he went with the National Guard to Australia. He died July 7, 1944, in New Guinea from a typhus infection. He was a member of Co. H. 126th regiment, 32nd division. Besides his mother, Cpl. Randall is survived by a brother, Asa, of Lowell; four sisters, Mrs. John Clack of Ionia; Mrs. Herman Dreger, Ellen and Marian Randall of Saranac.
