Born May 22, 1870, in England, he came to Ionia while still a young man and lived his entire life in this community. He was married to Stella Morse of Ionia in 1915. She died in March of 1937. They had lived for 25 years at their home at 502 E. Main street. He was employed at the Pere Marquette car shops until they shut down in Ionia. He has been retired for the past 10 years. He was a member of Ionia lodge No. 35. F. and A.M. Surviving are his sister, Mrs. Thomas Livingstone, of Harrington, Kansas; and two brothers, Herbert, of Alma, and one in England. Funeral services will be held from the residence on Main street Wednesday afternoon, September 18, at 2 p.m. Rev. F. G. Dunbar will officiate and interment will be held at Oak Hill cemetery.
