Mrs. Randolph has been in poor health for the past several months, and two weeks ago was taken to Grand Rapids to the home of a daughter, Mrs. James Sinke, and later entered the Butterworth hospital, where on Wednesday she submitted to an operation for cancer of the bowels. She never fully recovered from the shock of the operation, and passed Sunday afternoon at one o’clock. Elise M. Gillman was born in Allegheny county, N.Y., October 14, 1850. November 18, 1880 she was united in marriage at Pewamo, Michigan to George Randolph, who survives. To them were born four children, Luther G., of Lyons, Mrs. James Sinke of Grand Rapids, Miss Ida Randolph of Los Angeles, Cal., and Mrs. A. L. McDonald of Detroit. The family lived for several years at Pewamo then moving to Maple Rapids and later to Carson City, coming from that place to Lyons to reside in April 1914. The body was brought from Grand Rapids Monday and the funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock from the house, the services in charge of Rev. Geo. A. Brown of the local M. E. church.
