Ranger, 83, were conducted Friday at 2 p.m. from the Shaw-Rivett funeral home in Muir with the Rev. Richard Kidder of Lyons officiating. Mr. Ranger passed away at 8:30 Tuesday morning, Dec. 2 at the home of his son Howard C. Ranger of Chillicothe, Ohio where he had been for about two and one-half years during his long illness. He was born Nov. 3, 1875 in Ionia township just west of Lyons, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard A. Ranger. With the exception of two years spent as a merchant in Mulliken, he resided in Lyons and vicinity all of his life, until going to Chillicothe. He had retired a few years ago from farming. He was married to Miss Belle Dilley of Mulliken Nov. 4, 1896. She passed away June 3, 1950. He is survived by one son Howard C. Ranger of Chillicothe, Ohio, four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Mrs. V. H. Eman of Grand Rapids is a niece. The bearers were Alfred E. Faxon, Hugh M. Kelley, James Hopkins, James Hopkins Jr., Edward Peckins and Francis Peckins. Burial was in the Lyons cemetery. Among those from away were Dr. and Mrs. V. H. Eman of Grand Rapids.
