Aug. 3, 1970 HOWARD V. RANKIN MUIR - Howard Vernon Rankin, 54, of Pleasant street, Hubbardston, died Saturday at Carson City hospital. He was born May 5, 1916, the son of James and Idabelle Rankin in Libourn, Mo., and attended school there. He was married to Jessie Pindle March of 1933. They moved to Lansing in 1939 where he was employed as a mechanic for several service stations in that area. In 1965 they came to Hubbardston where they owned and operated a nursing home. Mr. Rankin was a member of Hubbardston village council. He is survived by his wife, Jessie; two sons, Bobby Joe and Harold of Lansing; three daughters, Mrs.Dick Lamkin of Grand View, Texas; Mrs. Alan Vaughan of Dimondale and Mrs. Norman Davis of St. Johns; 22 grandchildren; two brothers, John of St. Louis, Missouri, and Harry of Parma, Missouri; two sisters, Mrs. Linda Curtis of Conran, Missouri, and Mrs. Florence Howell of Loma Linda, California. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 11 a.m at Shaw-Rivett-Hull funeral home in Muir. Graveside services will be in Lansing at 2 p.m. at Deepdale cemetery, with Rev. Lloyd Hastings officiating.
