Nov. 3, 1910 C.T. RANNEY DEAD Former Well Known Resident Passed Away at Greenville C.T. Ranney died at his home in Greenville last Thursday evening after a sickness of several months duration, aged 62 years. He was a former resident of this city and went to Greenville with his brother, Fred E. Ranney, when the Ranney Refrigerator company, was organized and became superintendent of the factory and vice-president of the company. In speaking of his death, the Press says: He was a kind and genial disposition, loved by everyone with whom he came in contact and ever ready to hold out a helping hand to those in need. Outside of business affairs, he found time to enter into the public affairs of the community and was one of the best mayors the city ever had. Under his guidance the refrigerator plant grew until it was necessary to add to it and out a short time ago the capacity was doubled by the erection of another large building. Besides his wife, he leaves a son. The funeral largely attended was held Sunday, under Masonic rites with interment in the Otisco cemetery. A large number of the Masonic fraternity from this city were in attendance. Fred A. Washburn, E.E. Fales and W.P. Hetherington of this city assisted as bearers.
