Miss Carrie L. Ranney, 67, died at Blodgett hospital in Grand Rapids early Friday morning following an extended illness. She was born in Belding, Sept. 23, 1880, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick D. Ranney and graduated from the Belding high school in 1900 and from Olivet College in 1904. Miss Ranney taught school in Reed City and Cassopolis and was later engaged in social welfare work in South Bend, Ind., and Grand Rapids. Surviving are one sister, Miss Hattie Ranney and one brother LeRoy Ranney, both of Greenville, 11 nieces and nephews, among which is Lee Ranney, local alderman, and 22 grand nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at the residence in Greenville, Sunday at 5 o’clock and interment was in Otisco cemetery.
