David G. Ransom, age 74, of Lyons, passed away Oct. 28, 2015, in Lansing.  He was
born Jan. 7, 1941, in Lansing, the son of R. Gordon and Barbara (Griswold) Ransom. 
David married Evelyn Wolthuis, on June 4, 1966, in Ionia.  He loved fishing.  David
worked at MDOT for 32 years until retiring in 1997.  He was a member of the First
Presbyterian Church in Ionia.

David is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Evelyn Ransom of Lyons; children,
Pamela Stowell of Ionia and Michael Ransom of Ionia; grandchildren, Troy Stowell of
Ionia, Jennifer Stowell of Spring Lake, Megan Ransom of Ionia; and brother, Richard
(Marilyn) Ransom of Saranac.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law,
Richard Stowell in 2003; and daughter-in-law, Kathleen Ransom in 2002.

Memorial Service will be held Thursday, Nov. 5, 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian
Church in Ionia with Pastor Bruce Mulder officiating.  Visitation is one hour prior
to service.  Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.  Those wishing may make
contributions in David’s name to the First Presbyterian Church in Ionia.
