Ransom, 84, of Ionia passed away Fri., April 18, 2002, at Ionia County Memorial Hospital. She was born on July 23, 1917 in Ionia, the daughter of Lloyd and Alice (Steel) Snyder. Vivian graduated from Ionia High School in 1935 and married Howard Ransom on Dec. 21 of that year in Ionia. He preceded her in death in 1989. She worked at Vincent’s Greenhouse and was a member of the First Christian Church in Ionia, the Palo Eastern Star and the Ronald Grange. Surviving Mrs. Ransom are two sons, Ron (Pamela) Ransom of Ionia and Don (Janice) Ransom of Ionia; daughter, Carol (James) Snyder of Mount Holly, N.J.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson. In addition to her husband, her son, Phillip, preceded her in death. Funeral services for Vivian will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday at Cook Funeral Home, Rich Street Chapel with Rev. Carol Meeder of the First Christian Church presiding. Visitation is 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home. Interment in Woodard Lake Cemetery.
