Barbara B. Ransom, 80, of Ionia passed away Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1999, in Ionia.  
She was born April 18, 1919, in Calumet, the daughter of Ray and Mollie (Baker) 
Griswold.  She married Gordon Ransom on Dec. 30, 1939, in Portland.  

She worked for Dr. Buck for many years as a receptionist.  She was a member of 
First Presbyterian Church of Ionia, a member of Sarah Westminster Circle and 
the Women’s Literary Club.

She is survived by her husband, Gordon of Ionia; sons, David (Evelyn) Ransom 
and Richard (Marilyn) Ransom, both of Ionia; brother, Eugene (Anne) Griswold of 
Ionia; grandchildren, Susan Ransom of Ann Arbor, Cheryl (Michael) Burdo of 
Grand rapids, Pamela (Richard) Stowell of Kentucky, and Michael (Katherine) 
Ransom of Ohio; and two great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one 
sister, Eleanor Griswold Titcomb.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 
a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Ionia, with the Rev. David Weber and the 
Rev. Robert Nixon officiating.  Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial 
Gardens.  Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 
Ionia.  Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home, Ionia.
