November 7, 2020 RANSOM Larry B. Ransom, age 72 of Ionia, Michigan passed into heaven peacefully on Friday, October 30, 2020. Larry was born February 27, 1948 to Lenabelle (nee Motcheck) and Kenneth ransom in Ionia, Michigan. Larry went to St.John's Lutheran School for his elementary education and graduated from Ionia High School, class of 1966. He served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1969. Larry received a good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Army Expert Marksmanship M-14 Badge. Larry is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sheila (nee Schultz), sons, Mike (Heather) of Lowell, Michigan, Paul (Nikki) of Macomb, Michigan and John of Macomb, Michigan, grandchildren, Dusten, Miah, Danica, Giada, Rocco, Ophelia and grand baby to be, and great-granddaughter Piper, sisters, Dawne (Ken) Metzger of Hutchinson, Minnesota, Lynett(Denny) Seiler of Portland, Michigan and Michelle (Russell) Posey of Copper Center, Alaska, his many loving cousins, nieces and nephews, godchildren, Tiffany (Michael) Novak and Lukas (Monica) Buxton, his Ruehs Garage customers and family, and also his special little brothers, Ken (Windy) Badder and Michael (Tina) Hooper. Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Lenabelle Vanbrakel, father, Kenneth Ransom, step-father, Philip Vanbrakel and nephew AnthonyAngelo Ramos. Larry loved camping, especially with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid Drag racer winning his last race at US131 Motorsports Park at the age of 70. Larry had over 250 different types of day lilies that he had begun to sell through his Woodstone Daylily Company. Larry loved and knew that he was loved by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He would want everyone to know that the only true freedom you will ever have is the freedom that was bought by the death and resurrection of Jesus for the forgiveness of your sins. And that peace which passes al human understanding will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus until life everlasting. A private burial will take place with a celebration of Larry's life next summer. Memorials ay be made to Lansing Area Emmaus and Ionia Area Hospice.
