Ransom, 92, formerly of 409 Division, died late Sunday evening at the Ionia Manor after a patient 3½ years. Born in Orleans township August 18, 1883, she was the daughter of Joseph and Anna Smith Howard and attended the Piper school. She was married to Oliver Ransom December 28, 1904, at the family home in Orleans. They lived most of their married life in Ionia and he died in 1959. Mrs. Ransom had worked in Ionia several years at the Vincent’s greenhouse and about five years at the Hafner’s floral shop before retiring. She was a member of the First United Methodist church, Arbor of Gleaners and State road club. Among her survivors are two sons, Howard of Ionia and Gordon of Belding; two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Rayburn of Kent City and Mrs. Thelma Gustafson of Grand Ledge; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and brother Gardner Howard of Ionia. A son, Kenneth Ransom died in 1965. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Leddick funeral home. Rev. Charles Fullmer of First United Methodist church will officiate and interment will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established for the First united Methodist church. Family members will be at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Subsequent Publication: Thursday, January 8, 1976 Services for Mrs. Amanda J. Ransom, who died Sunday evening, were conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Charles Fullmer of First United Methodist church officiating. Interment was at Sunset Memorial Gardens cemetery. Bearers were grandsons, James and Gary Gustafson, Ronald, Donald, David, Richard and Larry Ransom. Following graveside services a luncheon was served to the family and friends in the dining room of First United Methodist church by the women of the church.
