Rasmussen died Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Newhall Nursing Home at Morley where he was removed Tuesday from the Edmore Lutheran home for the aged. He had been in poor health for a year and was moved to Morley when his condition became serious enough to need the special care of a nurse. He formerly lived in Trufant and moved to Orleans in 1913. His wife preceded him in death in 1942. After her death he lived with his daughter, Mrs. Esther Hall, 222 Putney St., and since 1943 had made his residence at the home in Edmore. Funeral services were held Monday at 2:30 at Holy Cross Lutheran church of which he was a member and he helped in many ways in the building of the church. Rev. Paul T. Gutknecht officiated at the service, Mrs. Elmore Lasco furnished the organ music and duets were sung by Mrs. Gutknecht and Claude Johnson. Burial was beside his wife in Orleans cemetery. Pall bearers were Amos Bolster, Gus Jacoby, Anker Vie, Lynn Higgins, Frank VanVlerlah and Elmer Lasco. Attending the funeral from out of the city were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Larson of Lansing; his sons and wives, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Rasmussen of Alpena and Mr. and Mrs. Vego Rasmussen of Kindee. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Esther Hall, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
