Danish Lady Here On Visit Passed Away

Had Been Here Long Time Visiting Children When She Was Stricken

It is hard enough to lay down among friends and loving relatives in the land of
one’s birth, but an added touch of sorrow comes over the passing of one whose
eyes close on the scenes of life far, far away from home and friends.

Such was the passing of Mrs. Kristen Rasmussen, aged 63 years, who came from her
home in Denmark several months ago to visit for a time with her children, in
this country, among them being a son, John Rasmussen, of Easton township.

Mrs. Rasmussen had visited with her children, Peter Rasmussen and Mrs. John
Peterson, of Gowen; John, of Easton, and two other sons, in Detroit, when she
was taken sick while at the homes of the latter in Detroit and was removed to a
hospital where she underwent an operation for the removal of gall stones, never
recovering from the effects of the operation.  Her death occurred on Wednesday
of last week in a hospital at Detroit.

The remains were brought to the home of her son, John, in Easton township and
the funeral services were held from the residence Friday afternoon with burial
in Easton cemetery.

Mrs. Rasmussen left a daughter in Denmark, when she came to this country and it
had been her intention and plan to return to her daughter and home in her native
land after visiting here for several months more.
