Lake Odessa Wave Times, 24 May 1918

Jonathan Clark Rathbun was born in Greece, Laurel Hill county, Rhode Island, April
12, 1825, and passed away May 16, 1918, at the age of 93 years, one month and four
days.  When a small boy he came to Cleveland, Ohio.  At this city he was united in
marriage to Miss Lucy Ann Stowe, Sept. 1848.  She departed this life May 17, 1890. 
To this union were born nine children, six sons and three daughters.  Four sons
remain to mourn the loss of a father, George D. of Lake Odessa, Neuman C. of
Lansing, Edward B. of Hastings and Alton L. of Grand Ledge; also 12 grandchildren
and 13 great-grandchildren, besides a large circle of friends and neighbors.

The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at the home of George Rathbun, at whose home
he died, Rev. Isaac Mourer officiating, and Mrs. Bert Mourer sang; interment in Lake
Side cemetery.
