All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mi/mifiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Marilyn Ransom mlnransom@chartermi.net June 30, 2012, 7:55 pm The Ionia Daily Standard, Monday, June 28, 1897 Ransom Rathbun, for many years a well-known farmer of Ionia county, but for the eight months last past, a resident of this city, expired suddenly on Sunday morning, shortly before seven o’clock, the cause being neuralgia of the heart. He was aged 60 years. The funeral will be attended from his last home, 142 West Lincoln avenue, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, and interment will be beside his first wife in Easton cemetery. Mr. Rathbun and Mrs. Sylvester Young, second wife, had been married but eight months. Rev. W. Ostrander, of the Seventh-day Adventist sect, of Grand Rapids, will conduct the funeral services. Mr. Rathbun was a resident of Ionia county continuously for the long period of 43 years, and was known and respected as a good former citizen and a scrupulously honest man. He leaves two grown up sons and one daughter. Mrs. Deborah Reed, mother of Mrs. F. C.
