LAST RITES FOR MAURICE RATHBUN
Maurice C. Rathbun, 61, passed away early Monday morning at Butterworth 
Hospital, Grand Rapids, following a long illness. He was hospitalized three 
days.

He was born in Lake Odessa Oct. 13, 1909, the son of Clark and Susie (Trumpower) 
Rathbun and was a lifelong resident of the area and graduate of the Lake Odessa 
High School in 1928.

Maurice was employed as a mechanic by the Poff-Lapo Sales for 36 years and also 
operated his own farm northwest of Lake Odessa.

Surviving are his wife, the former Gaylia VanHouten; a daughter, Mrs.Marilyn 
Hoover, Lake Odessa; a grandson Jeffery, and two sisters, Mrs.Arvin (Maxine) 
McLeod and Mrs.Joseph (Maudaline) Majinska, both of Lake Odessa.

Mr. Rathbun reposes at the Pickens Funeral Chapel, where funeral service will be 
held Thursday (today) at 1:30. Rev. George Schreckengost of Cleveland, Ohio, 
will officiate, with burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
