Ionia County News - Thurs. March 18, 1937


Mrs. Edwin Rathburn, 71, died at her home in Easton, Wednesday afternoon after 
a two weeks illness.

Deceased, whose maiden name was Mae Stebbins, was born in Easton township, on a 
farm where the Reformatory now stands, March 12, 1866. She was the daughter of 
George and Eleanor R. Stebbins. On July 4, 1885, she was united in marriage to 
Edwin Rathburn of Easton. A lifelong resident of Easton and member of the 
Easton Community Church, the Aid and Missionary Society, and will be greatly 
missed in civic religious and social groups and sincerely mourned by a large 
circle of friends.

Surviving relatives are a foster son, Ward Williams who lived with her; a 
brother, Perry Stebbins of Easton and a sister, Mrs. Lyda Harris of Bay City. 
Mr. Rathburn died four years ago on June 1.

The funeral will be conducted by Rev. Frank Loomis from the home at 2:00 
o’clock and from the Easton Community church at 2:30. Burial in Easton Cemetery.
