Born September 16, 1883 he was a son of William Frank Rathburn and Ida Brockway. He had resided at his present residence for the past 30 years and was employed at the Ionia Manufacturing Co. for 12 years. Surviving are his wife, Grace and sons and daughters, Henry and Clayton of Ionia, Clinton of Pewamo, Forrest of Vickeryville and Mrs Thelma Haskins of Orleans and 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs Edna Smith of Lyons and Mrs Pearl Black of Battle Creek. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, February 19 at 2 o'clock at the Myers funeral home. the Rev. Robert Watt of Lyons will officiate and interment will be in Easton cemetery. ASA R. RATHBURN Feb. 19, 1957 Funeral services for Asa R. Rathburn, 73, of Easton township who died Saturday at Butterworth hospital, were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Myers funeral home with the Rev. Robert Watt of Lyons officiating. Temporary interment was in the Easton Cemetery mausoleum. Bearers were Carl Haskins Jr., Jerry Rathburn, Steve Rathburn, Kenneth Ward, Raymond Black and Fred Jewell. Attending from out of town were Ford Lincoln, Fay Van Antwerp, Mrs daisy Fountain of Lakeview, Mrs Lee Van Antwerp of Blanchard, Mr and Mrs Harry King of Marshall, Mrs Eletha Rogers and Floyd Lincoln of Parma, Mrs Nina Losey of Jackson, Mrs Pearl Black, Mrs Manly Black, Mahlon K. Black, Mr and Mrs Raymond Black and Mrs Ethel Scarborough, all of Battle Creek, Mrs John Hall, Mrs Louise Scutt, Mrs Lucille Clement and Mr and Mrs Kenneth Ward of Portland. Mrs Laura France of Bedford, Mr and Mrs Don Norris of Flint, Mr and Mrs Fred Jewell of Fenwick, Mrs Lewis Blasen of Saranac, Mrs Lillian Reis of Grand Rapids and otto Vance of Pewamo.
