COOPER. FUNERAL AT THE HOME. ---------- Mrs. George Rtahburn died last Thursday at her home leaving besides her husband, two sons, Clark and Fred. She was a woman who looked after her home caring for the family needs and living a quiet life. The funeral was held at the home Saturday. Rev. M. H. Dawson, preached and Mrs. Bert Mourer sang. Burial was at Lakeside cemetery. ----------- 0BITUARY Joanna VanAman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George VanAman was born in Perry County, Pennsylvania, June the 22nd, 1852, and died July 30, 1925 aged seventy-three years, one month and eight days. She was united in marriage to George Rathburn of Lake Odessa June 18, 1883. To this union two children were born, Fred and Clark. On account of the death of his mother they took into their home at the age of six months, George Cooper a nephew, where he remained until grown to manhood. She leaves to mourn her departure, a sorrowing husband, children previously mentioned, three grandchildren two sisters, Mrs. John A. Sipe, of Herndon, Pa., Mrs. Elliott Webb, a twin sister of Grand Rapids; also one brother William VanAman of Hastings, besides a host of other relatives and friends. Her main object in life was to minister unto others, to such an extent that she was familiarly called "Aunt Joe" by all with whom she was acquainted. None knew her but to love her, none named her but to praise. Those from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Cooper and granddaughter of Birmingham, Mrs. and Mrs. Donald Perkins of Howell, Mildred and Melbourne Cooper of Pontiac, Mrs. and Mrs. Ed. Rathburn of Lansing, Mrs. and Alt Rathburn of Lansing. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Hebble of Woodland, Mrs. June Potts of Grand Rapids, a brother Wm. VanAman of Hastings and a twin sister Mrs. Mary Webb of Grand Rapids. ----------- CARD OF THANKS The family of George Rathburn take this opportunity to thank the neighbors, friends, minister, singer, those who furnished cars and many other friends whose services were of such inestimable value during the hours of our bereavement.
