The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, March 18, 1937
Mrs. May Rathburn, 71, died at her home in Easton township Wednesday afternoon 
at 2 o’clock following an attack of flu which developed into pneumonia.  She 
was born in Ionia county in 1865, a daughter of George and Eleanor R. 
Stebbins, and on July 4, 1885 was married to Edwin Rathburn, who died four 
years ago.  As a lifelong member of the Easton community church she was active 
in aid societies and missionary circles.

She leaves one brother, Perry Stebbins of Easton, one sister, Mrs. Lyda Harris 
of Bay City, and a foster son, Ward Williams, at home. 

Funeral services will be held from the home at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon and 
from the Eaton community church at 2:30 o’clock with Rev. Frank Loomis of 
Saranac officiating.  Burial will be at the Easton cemetery.
