Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 12 Jun 1963

Funeral service was conducted at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon for Arthur A. 
Rather, 76, who died Saturday afternoon at a Lansing hospital.  The Rev. 
Wilfred G. Sawyier, pastor of First Presbyterian church, officiated and 
interment was at Balcom cemetery.

Bearers were Fred B. Post, Roy Stewart, Clare Fuller, Dr. P.C. Robertson, 
Raymon Barnes and Marshall A. Westfall.

Attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Gumser of Lowell, Mr. and 
Mrs. O.B. Soehner of Port Huron, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Bueschlen of Jackson, Mrs. 
Elsa Bueschlen, Mrs. H.R. Elliott, Mrs. H.C. Rather and Dr. and Mrs. Louis 
Redemsky of East Lansing; Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Hicks of Grosse Pointe, Mrs. Dawn 
Kirby of Hillsdale, Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Phillips of Grand Rapids, John Barnes and 
Mr. and Mrs. Willard Stanton of Lansing; Ruth Swindt of Pewamo, Mr. and Mrs. 
Willie Stanton of Flint and Mr. and Mrs. George Cobb of Saranac.
