Pete attended a 1-room schoolhouse in Matherton, MI, St.John The Baptist Catholic School in Hubbardston MI, graduated from Carson City-Crystal High School in 1971. Obtained an Associates' Degree from Lansing Community College. Married Leisa Bissell on August 2,1980 & she survives him. Pete retired from the State of Michigan in with 35 years of service & had worked in the Department of Agriculture & the Department of Management and Budget. Retired in Boyne City where his job took him. Pete was a music Enthusiast & loved his days in the band he started during his youth. He enjoyed boating & traveling & was a Michigan Football fan. He also loved taking a ride with his English Springer Spaniel,Max, to buy a Detroit Free Press & a cup of coffee. Survived by his wife;Leisa Bissell, father;Victor Ratu & brother, John (Ann)Ratu; mother-in-law, Marjorie(Bissell)Bast; sister-in-law Kellie Seman & brother-in-law Steve (Teresa)Bissell, nephews Jordan(Laura)Ratu, Jonah Ratu, Lucas Ratu, Alex Seman, Benjamin Bissell & Spencer Bissell; niece Anna Seman; great nephew Hudson Ratu; great nieces Harlow Ratu & Scarlett Bissell. Preceded in death by his mother Mary Anne Ratu; father-in-law Marvin Bissell; brother-in-law Dennis Seman; and nephew Caleb Ratu. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association & Charlevoix Area Humane Society. A Celebration of Live open house will occur on Saturday, February 8 from 1-5 pm at Eagle Eye Golf Club,15500 Chandler Road,Bath Township,MI. Arrangements are being handled by Stackus Funeral Home in Boyne City.
