Born September 6, 1934 to Nicholas & Anna (Vasiu) Ratu, who immigrated to Michigan from Romania. Vic graduated from Carson City High School with the Class of 1952. He married Mary Anne Peiffer in 1952 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Carson City. Two sons were born, Nicholas"Pete & John. In younger years, Vic hauled milk, farmed & worked at Mitchell-Bentley in Ionia. in 1964, he began work for the State of Michigan at the Ionia State Hospital & later the Michigan Training Unit. He retired after 26 years of service. Vic enjoyed playing cards, snowmobiling, pool parties with friends & family, cutting firewood, reading & family meals with lots of laughter. Vic especially enjoyed spoiling his grandsons & watching them play football, baseball & hockey. Survived by son John (Amy)& daughter-in-law Leisa. Also by grandsons Jordan(Laura) (friend Autumn) & Lucas, also great-grandchildren, Hudson & Harlow. Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Anne, son Pete, grandson Caleb & sister, Mary Allen. Special thanks to neighbors to Mike Miller & time & Donna Schafer for assisting Vic when he lived at home. No services arrangements in care of Lake Funeral Home in Muir.
